Dear Friends,
Planning has begun again for our 95th Annual Saints Cosmas and Damian Feast, and this year's celebration looks as promising as those before it.
As I look back on my 40 years as a priest and my 20th year here at SS. Cosmas and Damian I am still amazed at the Lord Jesus' blessings. Our feast of SS. Cosmas and Damian is truly a blessed and joyous occassion. Our yearly feast has proven to be a spiritually nourishing experience for our families, our parishoners and the pilgrims that attend. I anticipate with great confidence this upcoming celebration because not only is it a festive and fun filled event, but also because it embodies a spirit of faithfulness and it witnesses your devotion to our two patrons through your presence each year.
I invite you again this year to strengthen your Catholic faith by participating in this annual tradition of devotion to Saints Cosmas and Damian. We have begun a new tradition of opening our Feast Triduum with a White Mass of Thanksgiving for Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses, and all in the Medical Profession. Please extend our invitation to your doctor, dentist, pharmacist, and nurse to attend. Our choir goes all out during the celebration of this Mass. We look forward to your participation.
Oscar Amusements is another new addition to our Carnival. There is plenty of Italian, Haitian, and American food. Expect great food, new rides, and entertainment so plan on having a wonderful time.
May God continue to bless you and your families, and through the intercession of Saints Cosmas and Damian may you continue to experience God's healing joy and peace.
Yours in Christ,
Reverend Gasper A. Genuardi, Pastor
